Legend and methodology
- Status
- What the publishing agency states — scheduled, tentative, rescheduled, delayed, postponed, cancelled or published — and, once the scheduled time has passed without evidence, publication unconfirmed. A status never changes merely because the clock passed the scheduled time.
- Published
- Shown only with evidence: the publisher’s own release notice linked to the event, a verified value published for the event’s reference period on or after its date, or the source calendar stating the release happened. The expanded row lists the evidence.
- Actual, Previous, Revision
- Actual is the verified observation of the release family’s headline series for the event’s own reference period, with its unit and publication status, shown once the event is due. Previous is the newest verified value for an earlier period. Revision marks a value that replaced a different one and shows what it replaced. A dash means no verified value, never zero. Values are never coloured as good or bad: a higher number is not universally better.
- Values HELPERG computed
- Most values are the publisher’s own figure, copied through. A few are computed here, and each one says so: where an official interface publishes the inputs and not the headline — the BLS statistical API supplies no calculations to an anonymous caller — HELPERG derives the change the agency itself prints, from the agency’s own published index values, in exact decimal arithmetic. The expanded row names the publisher’s series, both reference periods and the arithmetic, so the figure can be recomputed rather than trusted, and the API carries the same evidence in
values.actual.derived. A computed figure is HELPERG’s output and is never presented as the publisher’s own publication. - Forecast and consensus
- None. HELPERG holds no forecast or consensus source and publishes no estimate of any kind; the calendar shows official values only, so no such column exists here — by decision, not by omission.
- Time and time zones
- Every instant is stored in UTC and shown in the zone you choose (the choice is kept in your browser only). A release whose source publishes only a date shows “Date only” and never a time or a countdown. “Time remaining” counts down to the scheduled instant; it is not a claim that publication will occur at that instant.
- Expanded row
- Every row expands to its provenance: publisher, the calendar that scheduled it, the release family and its page at the publisher, the headline series the Actual is read from, reference period and whether the source stated it, publication evidence with the instants HELPERG detected it, freshness, the kind of official link, and attribution. Nothing in it rates the release.
- Official sources
- Eurostat’s release calendar, the ECB’s statistical and Governing Council calendars and the BLS release schedule, read from the publishers’ own pages and feeds. “Open official source” goes to the most specific official page HELPERG can prove: the publisher’s release notice for that event, else the release family’s page, else the publisher’s own dataset page for the series the release carries, else the publisher’s calendar — each labelled as such. Links go only to the publishers’ own domains.
- Schedule changes and publication uncertainty
- Agencies move, delay and occasionally cancel releases. HELPERG reads each calendar daily and records every change with the previous date kept; between readings a schedule can be out of date, and a release can appear on the publisher’s site before this page confirms it. Treat times as the agency’s stated plan, not a guarantee.
- Freshness and updates
- The page shows when the corpus was last rebuilt and labels it stale when the newest successful ingestion is older than three days. While the page is open it re-checks every ten minutes and announces a change once; this is not a streaming or real-time service.
- Scope
- This calendar is a schedule of official statistical publications with their provenance, and nothing else. It rates no release, interprets no value and carries no recommendation of any kind; the values shown are the publishers’ own figures, presented in neutral form.
